Houghton International Horse Trials 2019: Alison Lee of Lime Kiln Farm Equestrian Centre

We’re looking forward to a fantastic Houghton International Horse Trials this year and in preparation we caught up with one of our sponsored riders, Alison Lee of Lime Kiln Farm Equestrian Centre, who shared her plans for the event.

‘This year's Houghton is going to be a busy one, with lots to look forward to. I've got two horses qualified for the British Novice second rounds, I've currently got two students and ponies that I own and train who have qualified for the final, so I've got to make sure I do the same.

'Lime Kiln Farm has entered two pairs in the Nags ring on the Friday – me on a 17hh horse and our super-speedy 12hh pony Oliver Twist VI ridden by Oosha Moondi so it will definitely be an exciting round!

'We have three ponies competing in the affiliated classes and one in the unaffiliated dressage. In between all of this, we're looking forward to watching the eventers’ challenge, it's always fast and furious!

'Houghton is a great chance to see and compete against some of the sport’s top names, there is something for everyone and it's got a great atmosphere.

Team Lime Kiln Farm have had a good start to the season, mostly we compete in British Showjumping rather than eventing, and have already got a string of qualifications under our belts ready for the summer, from venues across the country.

'We are very lucky to receive continued support and sponsorship from Nags Essentials, with several greys and a coloured pony on our team and lots of multi-day shows. It’s a busy life on the road and we couldn't live without blue shampoo, NAF stain remover and NAF EnerG Shots from Nags Essentials.'

The Saracen Horse Feeds Houghton International Horse Trials runs from 23-26 May at Houghton Hall PE31 6UE
