Visit us at the Royal Windsor Horse Show!
Now celebrating its 75th year, The Royal Windsor Horse Show is one of the most prestigious events on the equestrian calendar. Originally a two-day show, it now packs in five days of exhilarating action over multiple disciplines and is the only show in the UK to host international competitions in showjumping, dressage, driving and endurance.

Given its location, it is no surprise the show is a favourite of the Royal Family. The Queen has attended every year since it first ran in 1943, entering many of her own homebred horses and ponies, many with notable success. One horse in particular, ex-racer Barber Shop, was last year’s supreme ridden champion at Windsor, a culmination of an already fruitful show ring career. The bay gelding will take to the ring once last time at Windsor in special retirement ceremony on Sunday. Prince Philip has also competed in the carriage driving, winning once in 1982.

An action packed weekend across the arenas will see a host of entertainment including the Oxford-Cambridge Varsity matches in jumping and dressage, the Mounted Band of the Household Cavalry, as well as popular crowd pleasers, the Land Rover Shetland Pony Grand National and DAKS Pony Club games.

Charlotte Dujardin OBE and Carl Hester MBE are just two of the world-class riders making up the line-up in the dressage, taking place this evening and tomorrow. While showjumping fans will be eager to see the likes of Ben Maher and the Whitakers' in the International CS15* competition.

If you are heading to the show be sure to check the website for up-to-date timetable information and a map of the show to help you navigate your way round the site. But leave dogs at home as they are not allowed on the grounds - a ruling introduced in 1944 after a lurcher at the previous year's show stole a piece of chicken from King George V’s plate!
